Privacy & Your Data

When you check out as a guest, Salty Vault receives the contact and order information needed to process the purchase, including your email address, name, shipping address, products and quantities, promotion details if used, shipping selection when available, order totals, and payment and order status. We also receive information you choose to send by email.

We use this information to validate and process orders, take payment, arrange delivery, communicate about an order, provide customer support, prevent or investigate fraud and security issues, maintain transaction records, and meet applicable legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

Payment details are entered in Stripe’s secure checkout. Salty Vault does not receive or store your full payment-card number through this checkout.

To create and complete checkout, Salty Vault sends Stripe the order items, quantities, prices, discounts, order and payment amounts, email address, and checkout reference. Stripe may also collect billing and shipping information in its hosted checkout where required. Salty Vault receives payment identifiers, status, customer contact and shipping details, and related transaction information needed to complete and support the order.

Stripe handles information under its own privacy notice.

There are no customer accounts. The storefront stores cart details in your browser so the cart can survive a reload, including product references, quantities, and the last observed prices.

During guest checkout, your browser’s session storage temporarily holds checkout progress and draft details as you enter them, including your name, email address, and delivery address. You can remove cart items or clear the storefront’s site data through your browser controls.

Avoid entering checkout details on a shared device unless you are comfortable with that information remaining in the browser session.

A promotion code may be submitted for validation and recorded with an order. Newsletter signup is optional and requires your explicit consent. We store your email, signup source and date, consent wording, unsubscribe status, one-time shipping benefit and welcome delivery status.

Newsletter emails come from hello@saltyvault.ca, with replies directed to support@saltyvault.ca. Each welcome includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops marketing emails; it does not stop transactional order messages. The storefront does not silently subscribe purchasers to marketing. Inquiries do not subscribe you either. We retain benefit redemption and consent history to prevent duplicate incentives and respect unsubscribe requests.

Optional Meta Pixel advertising measurement is off unless you accept it in our cookie banner or below. If accepted, Meta receives page views, product views, successful cart additions, checkout starts and confirmed purchases, including product references, quantities, Canadian-dollar values and an order reference. Meta also receives browser and network information, such as IP address, page URLs and identifiers, and may use cookies such as _fbp and _fbc for advertising measurement and attribution.

We do not send your name, email, phone number, shipping address or payment details in these events. Advanced Matching and automatic event configuration are not enabled by this integration. Meta handles information under its privacy policy.

Your preference is stored in this browser until you change it or clear site data. After a tracked purchase, a browser marker prevents that order from being tracked repeatedly. Turning tracking off stops future events and clears Meta first-party cookies on this site; it does not recall data already sent. Newsletter consent is separate. Normal web requests still provide technical information such as the requested URL, IP address, browser information, and request time to the systems serving the site, where it may appear in infrastructure logs.

The Contact and Sell / Trade forms send the details you provide to our support or sales mailbox. We use this information to respond to and manage your inquiry. Submitting an inquiry does not subscribe you to marketing. Privacy questions can be sent to support@saltyvault.ca.

You may contact us about your personal information. Any access, correction, deletion, objection, or other request will be handled according to the rights and obligations that apply in the circumstances.
